Overview:

The assignment was to create a fictional social media campaign of my choice, and design 3 artboards per

social media platform to advertise it. I chose to create a tequila brand, titled “QuilaTe,” and designed their

promotional campaign called “Tequila Tuesday.” The purpose of this campaign is to promote sales of this

tequila by allowing consumers to participate in purchasing the tequila, and drinking on Tuesdays. They

can participate on social media by using the Snapchat filters, or the Instagram hashtag ‘#tequilatuesday.’ I

have also created Facebook display images for QuilaTe to use to promote this campaign.

Context & Challenge:

The main challenge I faced while creating this campaign was differentiating between designs for different

platforms. For example, I first created my Instagram images, but transferring a similar and distinguishable

style for Snapchat or Facebook was difficult for me to do because I wasn’t sure if making them too

similar would be redundant, or if making them too different would make it hard for consumers to

recognize that the images were apart of one campaign.

Process & Insight:

I started with creating three images for Instagram by copying and pasting image traces of different

cocktails, including the “#tequilatuesday,” and the QuilaTe logo. I wanted to use an overlap/collage style

in every image, so I decided to build upon this theme.

Solution

I enjoyed the pastel colours as well as the bright cocktails. I wanted to implement this theme into

Snapchat filters and Facebook images. Building upon the fun and bright style I originally chose to create,

I used image trace, pastel colours, and the same font in every design to keep the style consistent.

Result:

I have completed the assignment with three Instagram images, three Snapchat filters, and three Facebook

display pictures. I overall am happy with the designs, but I wish that I had done a bit more work on the

Snapchat and Facebook images. I like the theme of the Instagram imagery the best, especially third one,

because of its floral essence.
